Course Requirements: Students are required to complete in class assignments, answer questions from

the text, complete lab assignments where they develop maps and answer questions regarding GIS

applications in the real world.

Grading Scale: The grading scale is listed below. Percentage Grade 90 - 100 A 80 - 89 B 70 - 79 C 60 - 69

D < 60 F

Tentative Grade Allocation:

Homework ~500

Projects ~400

Final Exam ~100

Relationship to Campus Theme:

This course addresses the campus theme by incorporating GIS computer technologies, applied natural

resource management and GPS data collection technologies that are used to develop natural resource

management plans.

Classroom Policies:

Be respectful of other students, technicians, instructors, and guests. Show up for class. Be involved in

classroom discussions.

Student Email Policy:

Dakota College at Bottineau is increasingly dependent upon email as an official form of

communication. A student’s campus-assigned email address will be the only one recognized by

the campus for official mailings. The liability for missing or not acting upon important

information conveyed via campus email rests with the student.
