Goal:
The goal of this course is to facilitate student learning and implementation of nutrition science.
Objectives: The student will:
1)
Understand what nutrition is, why we need it, and how to incorporate it into our daily lives.
2)
Understand weight management and energy balance.
3)
Describe how nutrition and fitness are linked.
4)
Discuss consumerism and sustainability; food safety and technology.
5)
Understand nutritional needs and changes throughout the human life cycle.
6)
Discuss hunger issues at home and abroad.
