NURS 124 Syllabus - Spring 2017

COURSE:

NURS 124: Clinical Practice II

CREDIT HOURS:

3 semester hours (144 Lab/Clinical Hours)

103.5 clinical hours (87.5 clinical hours plus 16 clinical hours at the NDSH)

40.5 lab hours

144 hours total

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Gain additional nursing skills in the laboratory and apply those advanced skills in the clinical setting. Utilize the

tools of informatics, nursing process, clinical reasoning, therapeutic communication, evidence based practice,

and management concepts to provide safe and culturally sensitive client care for individuals across the lifespan in

a variety of medical facilities.

MEETING TIME: Lab: (as scheduled at each site – 40.5 hours)

Clinical:

NHSC

ND State Hospital in Jamestown:

Two (2) – 8 hour clinical day rotations will start on

January 10 and end on February 16 (

16 clinical hours

).
