Position Purpose: This position will provide technical planning assistance to landowners and support for WSCD conservation programs. The position is a combination of office work and fieldwork, working with farmers, other land users and government agencies offering them conservation planning and technical assistance to improve water quality, conserve the soil, manage nutrients, and protect and improve wildlife habitats.
Required Education, Skills, Abilities and Experience: An ideal candidate will have:
· Experience in natural resources, agriculture, farming operations, forestry, and conservation. A college education in any of these fields is a plus, but not required.
· Experience with farm machinery operation and maintenance beneficial.
· Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, QuickBooks, basic of ArcGIS, and the ability to learn computer programs necessary to perform the job outlined.
· Plans and hosts public meetings and workshops while presenting educational, natural resources concerns, conservation practices and opportunities in urban areas.
· Become familiar with NRCS field office technical guide for conservation practices specifications.
· Be able to properly identify tree and grass types and varieties.
· Must have good verbal and writing skills.
· Good organizational skills and able to work as a team member and/or independently.
· Valid driver’s License.
· Physical ability to work in rough terrain and lift 50 pounds.
· United States citizen or alien authorized to work in the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with office operation and management; answering telephone and emails, greet the public in a professional manner, etc.
· Use office machines and computers in carrying out daily work.
· Assist with conservation planning activities using agency specific software and programs to complete farm conservation programs, assembling conservation plan and contract folders.
· Construct monthly Soil Conservation District agendas and financial statements for board meetings. Record accurate minutes and maintain the meeting files.
· Assist/develop/manage the District’s website, social media, newsletters, news releases, etc.
· Assist with the various District’s educational and outreach efforts, including conducting presentations, develop You-Tube videos and organizing group meetings.
· Provide technical leadership and assistance in planning and implementation of best management practices; supporting internal research efforts and implementation of pilot programs.
· Lead the expansion of the District’s presence and education of implementing water and soil conservation opportunities in the urban areas.
· Engaging volunteers and partners to build community and create stewardship opportunities throughout Ward County and local region.
· Work with customer to develop tree planting plans and inform landowners about possible programs available that may provide cost-share assistance for the planting.
· Knowledge of water quality monitoring protocol, sampling procedures and ability to collect water samples for testing.
· Plant a variety of conservation grade trees, followed by installation of weed barrier fabric for customers.
· Work with customers regarding the proper use and care of the District’s shallow pipe plow and accessories that are rented to the customers.
· Work with customers regarding the proper use and care of the District’s grass drill that is rented to the customers, used to plant conservation grass and cover crops.
· Operate a small drone capturing photographs for compliance verification checks and other effective drone usages.
· Perform general maintenance on District’s facilities and equipment, including property grounds management.
· Perform general cleaning and organization of District’s equipment shops and tree coolers.
· Make follow-up visits to check the progress and results of the conservation practices implemented and update the land users on best and effective management practices to consider implementing.
· Complete mandatory training and attend conservation training related to conservation planning activities.
· Perform other related duties as requested by the district board.

Under the direction of the Manager of the Rolette County Soil Conservation District, the District Technician assists landowners and agricultural producers to adopt and implement agriculture and urban soil and water conservation practices, and increases public awareness of local, state and federal conservation programs. Fallon County Golf Course Superintendent
Job Overview This position directs and participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the course and grounds at the Lakeview Golf Course. This includes management of the turf/grass program, irrigation system, water usage, and pesticide applications. Maintains variety of equipment including but not limited to mowers, weedeaters, blowers, and utility carts. This hands-on position performs extensive manual labor in a variety of weather conditions. Supervises and directs the work of a seasonal crew. May assist the Outside Maintenance department with snow removal during winter months. The following is representative of typical work performed but is not necessarily limited to these specific tasks/areas: Essential Functions Turf Management – Manages the environmental health of the fairways and greens to ensure that the course meets the needs of the players. Constantly monitors and inspects course year-round. Designs and implements landscape plans for the course. Sprays fungicides and fertilizers in accordance with seasons and needs of turf and soil; collects soil samples to determine needs. Tracks and records use of fertilizer on spreadsheets for quality assurance. Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the Club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Plans and schedules all pesticide and fertilizer applications throughout the year, creates a greens program, inventory, and record of all applications with a log of weather conditions, course conditions, and the outcome of the application for future reference. Forecasts chemical and fertilizer usage based on variety of factors including Ph. levels and weather trends. Physically inspects greens for ice; breaks up/removes as necessary. Aerates course as needed. Mows and weedeats roughs, fairways, and greens; this is a continuous activity during most of the year. Prepares the course for tournaments. At the end of the season prepares course and turf for winterization. Irrigation system – Monitors irrigation system for maximum efficiency and troubleshooting via Lynx software system. Monitors soil moisture levels. Primes, repairs, and installs new irrigation lines. Plans and develops new irrigation systems, including redesigns and modifications of existing irrigation system. Ensures all irrigation system operations are in compliance with the Operation & Maintenance Plan and Department of Environmental Quality regulations. Course Maintenance – Develops and implements a course improvement plan to enhance the quality of the course and experience for golfers. Sand blasts and repaints ball washers and yardage markers. Sets up course by placing all benches, ball washes, t-markers, etc. back on course. Rebuilds t-boxes, installs drain tile, builds retaining walls, plants, and maintains flower beds. Maintains cart paths as needed. Performs constant pest control including use of poison and mosquito pellets. Performs variety of tasks to winterize the course including blowing out irrigation lines and water lines, placing flags, benches, ball washers, etc. in storage. Receives, Page 2 of 5 organizes, and puts away supply shipments. Maintains and monitors inventories for irrigation supplies, filters, oil, flags, fungicides, sulfur, and fertilizer. Ensures all items are stored in compliance with federal and state regulations. Equipment and Pump House Maintenance – Performs preventative maintenance on variety of machines/equipment including but not limited to mowers, utility carts, skid steer, aerator, sweepers, and blowers. Types of maintenance may include but is not limited to changing oil, filters and hydraulic hoses, sharpening mower blades, and changing wheel bearings. Cleans and organizes the shop and other areas to ensure all property is maintained in a safe and orderly status. Ensures garage doors are operational. Paints pump houses as necessary. Ensures pump houses are operating efficiently by changing filters and hoses, cleaning rubber diaphragms and checking valves, draining, and replacing motor oil. Maintains and monitors pump house at the lagoon; ensures motor and related equipment does not freeze. Tests course pond water to ensure chlorine ratio meets Department of Environmental Quality regulations; adjusts pump as necessary. Department Administration – Prepares annual budget with the County Commission; directs and controls the expenditure of departmental funds allocations within the constraints of approved budgets. Attends meetings with the Commission and other departments as needed. Works in conjunction with the Club Manager for the betterment of the course. Attends Golf Course Board meetings and Tournament Committee meetings; reports on activities/projects/repairs and upcoming activities. Attends regional and national meetings to keep apprised of newest techniques and cutting-edge technologies. Supervision of Others – Participates in the recruitment of seasonal crews including interviewing and selection. Engages in performance management with staff: scheduling, performance appraisals, coaching, training, skill development, and progressive discipline. Trains seasonal grounds crew members; supervises crew in determining the need for irrigation, seeding rates, fertilization rates, sod cutting, cutting turf grass on fairways, tees, greens, and roughs, and raking sand traps. Assigns crews to various grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to mowing of golf course grounds and property; assisting in the installation and repair of irrigation lines; assisting with chemical applications in the maintenance of the grounds and performing general maintenance and repair on mowers and similar equipment. Also performs work in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, 10 key calculators, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Required Education and Experience Employment with Fallon County requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a two (2) year degree or certificate in Turf Management or related field (such as agronomy, horticulture, plant science or soil science) and at least five (5) years’ experience in golf course maintenance. Must understand the game of golf. Must have at least one (1) year experience in herbicide and pesticide application. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. ob Title: Certified Medical Assistant III (CMA III) Department: Medical Reports to: Clinic Director Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant III (CMA III) performs basic administrative, clerical (front office) tasks and routine medical (back office) tasks and procedures under direct supervision of a licensed professional in the medical office. The CMA III will assist the medical providers and nursing staff and may perform within the scope of practice of a medical assistant to include placing patients in exam rooms, collect and record patient data including medications, height, weight, and vital signs, pain rating, fall risk, prepare patients for clinician evaluation, apply and remove dressings, give injections, and other similar procedures. Qualifications and Requirements: 1. Certification Required: • Must have received current certification through one of the ND Board of Nursing approved agencies. • Must have registered as a Technician and Medication Assistant III with the ND board of Nursing. • Must have received medication administration training through an in-person clinical component to prepare the CMA to administer medications in their role as a CMA III. • Current BLS CPR certification. 2. Minimum Qualifications: • A High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant and within a community clinic is strongly preferred. • Must be able to speak and understand English. • Minimum of 18 years of age. 3. Assist with the initial admission of patients to the clinic, going over medical records request with patient and assisting provider by gathering health information (personal history, personal social history, family history, medications and allergies) for the provider. 2. Take routine vital signs of patients, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and pulse oximetry. 3. Facilitate medication refills (phoning prescriptions or by electronic submission) to pharmacies after provider has reviewed and approved them. 4. Assist with paperwork related to prior authorizations or referrals. 5. Performing routine lab tests in clinic setting consistent with training and clinical policies (i.e. urine dipstick, urine pregnancy, finger-stick blood glucose, rapid step, rapid influenza A, B swab collection) and document results if test completed within the clinic. 6. Perform skin tests (tuberculin) but may NOT interpret results. 7. Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications as ordered by the provider and document appropriately in the patient chart. 8. Perform visual acuities, hearing screening (whisper test), and nebulizer treatments as directed by a provider. 9. Prepare patients for examination or procedures including positioning, draping, shaving, and disinfecting treatment sites. 10. Collecting and labeling specimens brought to the laboratory. 11. Set up appropriate procedure trays for providers 12. Obtain consents for procedures including patient sign consent forms. 13. Assist provider with procedures, minor excisions/biopsies, sutures, pap smears, pelvic exams and ear lavage. 14. Assist in removing sutures or staples from superficial wounds directed by provider 15. Assist in removing casts, splints, and other external devices as directed by a provider and within scope of practice. 16. Introduction: The Ward Soil Conservation District is a political subdivision entity of Ward County, governed by the State of North Dakota. The District works in partnership with the local USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office providing staffing per an intergovernmental operating agreement, implementing farm bill programs through the District Conservationist and correlating work activities. Services currently offered by the Soil Conservation District includes planning and implementation of tree planting by machine, weed barrier installation, ground tilling, shallow-depth livestock pipeline plow, no-till grass drill, drone aerial photography services, livestock water quality testing and execution of the Alliance to Advance Climate Smart Agriculture Program.
The General Manager position is a full time position. The General Manager functions as the chief executive officer of the Ward Soil Conservation District and has the overall leadership and oversight for personnel, technical and program planning, finances, public outreach, project management and implementation. The General Manager represents the District to public and private partner organizations.
The General Manager ensures that adequate technical, financial, and educational resources are available to meet the conservation needs of constituents. Continually monitoring and improving the District’s ability to assist constituents in meeting the natural resource needs of Ward County.
The General Manager acts on behalf of the 5-member Board of Directors, within the authorities described in the position description, in the District’s Employee Handbook, and as otherwise authorized by the Board of Supervisors. Reports to the Board of Supervisors regularly at Board meetings, through regular reports, meetings of various committees and communication as deemed appropriate.
Position Purpose: Lead District personnel to accomplish District’s mission, goals and objectives. The General Manager has supervisory authority over all other employees of the District, but may delegate supervision of program staff to the District’s Management Team. Responsibilities include assigned duties; day-to-day supervision, formal and informal performance evaluations, and ensuring staff receive proper training and are informed of District policies.
This position provides technical planning assistance to landowners and support for WSCD conservation programs. The position is a combination of office work and fieldwork, working with farmers, other land users and government agencies offering them conservation planning and technical assistance to improve water quality, conserve the soil, manage nutrients, and protect and improve wildlife habitats.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experiences and Personal Characteristics: An ideal candidate will have the following:
· Degree (Bachelor preferred) in agriculture, agronomy, biology, conservation, ecology, environmental science, farm operations, forestry, natural resources management, business, business administration, business management, operations management, management science, public administration or a related discipline. However, related past experience managing a natural resource organization, agency, a business or comparable experience with farming/ranching operation will be considered.
· Be a highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to successfully lead a productive and talented team. Must be dependable, people oriented and detail oriented.
· Demonstrate proficiency as a manager, responsible for organizational, project, staff and personnel management.
