UNIV 110 College Study Skills 1 Semester Credit Hour Instructor: Zahra M. Moss Email : Zahra.moss@dakotacollege.edu (701) 228-5477 Office Hours: SSC/ 9am-3pm and by appointment Course Description: This course is designed to help students learn and practice effective study skills. Each week we will focus on developing habits that will improve the quality of study techniques, critical thinking, analysis and time management and academic performance. Using the technology available we will also practice interpersonal skills, writing and presentations. When attended regularly, this course will offer students the foundation needed for optimal performance in and outside the classroom. Schedule: This course is offered Fall and Spring Semesters. It follows a traditional on-campus schedule for beginning, end dates as well as assigned Holiday Closures. Delivery Method: This course is being delivered online. Students are not required to attend class on campus. Pre-Requisite Course : None Textbook: Gardner and Barefoot. Your College Experience: Strategies for Success. Books can be ordered through the DCB Bookstore. Email Policy: Dakota College at Bottineau is dependent upon email as an official form of communication between Instructors and students. Your campus assigned email address will be the only one recognized by the campus for the purpose of official communications. The liability for missing or not responding to important information conveyed via email is the students’ responsibility. We will be using the web application Remind as a form of communication.
