Employee Handbook 12 August 2023 11.4 Campus Administration) The Dean’s Council – Reporting directly to the Campus Dean are the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Student Services, Associate Dean for Business & Finance, Physical Plant Director, and the Athletic Director. These individuals along with the Campus Dean comprise the Dean’s Council. The Dean’s Council is the primary decision-making and planning body at DCB. The Council assists the Campus Dean in developing and recommending policies and plans, budgets, programs, and standards affecting the institution. Following are examples: a) advising and assisting in matters of general administration and strategic planning, b) ensuring application of SBHE policy to the campus, c) reviewing financial, academic and student affairs brought before it by committees, d) serving as a link between campus groups and constituents. The Dean’s Council meets weekly. The following is a description of the responsibilities of the Dean’s Council members: The Campus Dean of DCB is the chief executive officer of DCB and is responsible to the President of MiSU for all institutional activities. The Campus Dean represents students, faculty, and staff. The Campus Dean has full authority to administer the affairs of the institution with oversight provided by the President. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is an executive officer of the institution and is responsible for providing appropriate instructional pathways for students to utilize in achieving their academic goals. Programing includes courses, certificates and degrees that can be either transfer or terminal, all of which are assessed for quality and relevance on a regular basis. Responsible for personnel, programs, budget, evaluations, facilities, and overall general management of academics. The Associate Dean is the chief academic officer of the institution. The Associate Dean for Student Services is an executive officer of the institution and serves as Registrar and Risk Manager. Responsible for personnel, budgets, evaluations, facilities, and overall general management of the departments within the Student Services division. The Associate Dean is the chief student services officer of the institution. The Associate Dean for Business & Finance is an executive officer of the institution and is responsible for personnel, budgets, evaluations, and overall general management of the following areas: business office, bookstore. The Associate Dean for Business & Finance is the chief financial affairs officer of DCB. The Athletic Director is an executive officer of the institution and is responsible for personnel, programs, budgets, evaluations, facilities, and overall
