Dakota College at Bottineau Course Syllabus Course Prefix/Number/Title: HPER 150, Varsity Athletics, Football Number of credits: 1 Course Description: Teaches the following aspects of football; punting, kicking, offensive line play, defensive line play, offensive back play, and defensive secondary play. The various techniques involved in each area, such as: different secondary coverages, different offensive plays from different offensive sets, and different blocking rules and blocking schemes are taught that will be encountered in different situations. Pre-/Co-requisites: None Course Objectives: To educate and engage the student in intercollegiate sport rules and practices To have fun in a safe and caring learning environment. Points will be given and not given depending on your appearance in class. General Education Goals/Objectives: Goal 1 – to develop the ability to communicate Goal 6 – to promote the management and use of physical activity Goal 9 – to develop lifelong learning skills Relationship to Campus Theme: We will use modern technology in preparing you for the sport. We will also do some activities outside to encourage the Nature theme. Classroom Policies: No cell phones will be on, please turn phones off. Participate in class discussions.
