American Literature II surveys Unites States literature from the end of the Civil War to the present. Students will read, discuss and write about selections from the American West, fiction representing realism and naturalism, fiction, drama and poetry from various schools of expression of the 20 th Century. Pre-/Co-requisites: None Course Objectives: To discuss important themes in United States literature To learn about major United States’ witers and their works To analyze literature as it is affected by and affects U.
