85 Medical Coding Certificate THIS PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE ONLINE Medical coders examine patient records to translate a diagnosis or procedure into a code to allow for reimbursement for the medical facility. Coders rely on computer programs, coding reference manuals, and their knowledge of diseases, anatomy, and procedures. They are often found performing ultrasound procedures at a patient’s bedside, but also may work with imaging equipment in a dedicated room within the hospital or clinic. Most diagnostic sonographers work full time, and some may be assigned to work evenings, weekends or on holidays depending on their employer. Often the role requires being on your feet for most of the workday.
