Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to announce they have teamed up with Rugby Public Schools (RPS) and Kenmare Public School (KPS) to offer a new dual credit course for high school students to earn college credit. RPS and KPS high school students can earn college credit in the agricultural field: Drones – (small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) sUAS 102 – Basic Flight Training Course.

Dakota College at Bottineau recognizes students from the spring 2023 semester for their academic success. This academic success recognizes outstanding students who are investing time, energy, and resources to become contributing members of society. Dean’s List students maintain a GPA of 3.5 and higher and the Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0-3.49. We are pleased that they have achieved a high level of academic excellence.

This spring marks the 64th Annual Scholastic Award Program. Hosted by the Bottineau Area Chamber of Commerce, recognition is given to area students for their academic success. There were ten Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) students recognized last week at the Bottineau Public School James Holwell Auditorium. DCB students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher, be enrolled full-time, have earned a minimum of 40 credits from DCB, and are on track to graduate in spring 2023 with an associate-level degree. In addition, the student’s extracurricular and co-curricular activities are taken into consideration. The academic achievements of some exceptionally bright and talented students were recognized by Kayla O’Toole, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Dr. Carmen Simone, Campus Dean.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to recognize students at the 2023 commencement ceremony. The ceremony will be held in the gym located in Thatcher Hall and will recognize 86 of the 179 graduating students on Friday, May 12th at 3:00 pm. The commencement event will also be streamed.

At Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB), high school students are earning their college degrees before they graduate high school this month. This is made possible through the Leading to Education and Advanced Preparation (LEAP) and LEAP Beyond program opportunities.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) held its annual employee recognition luncheon this week. Excellence awards, which are determined by students and peers, were presented to faculty and staff. The Employee Excellence awards are intended to recognize and reward employee efforts whose job performance adds value to the college experience for students, colleagues, and the campus community. Recipients demonstrate qualities that make it clear their contributions are exemplary and go beyond what is required for the routine discharge of their duties. Hattie Albertson, English Instructor, Leslie Ostreim, Photography Studio Manager and Danielle Clemenson, Academic Administrative Assistant are the 2023 recipients.

Dakota College at Bottineau recognized students at an annual ceremony last week. This recognition honors students whose academic achievement and campus involvement have been exemplary in 2022-2023. Staff, and instructors from their specific programs awarded students who earned the recognition.

The Natural Resource Institute Part IV “Earth’s Land & Soil Resources” is accepting registrations for summer 2023. Space is limited. The institute will be held on Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) campus June 7-8, 2023. This is the fourth in a series of professional development classes for both formal and informal educators. Educators from throughout North Dakota are invited to attend the institute which has proven to provide an excellent mix of professionals an opportunity to gain experience from one another according to Angie Bartholomay, Professor of Science at Dakota College, and coordinator of the workshop.

For the Annual Campus Read program, Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to announce the April guest speaker. A sophomore enrolled in the horticulture program at DCB, Jess McInnes-Gee, from Minnedosa, MB, will spark in-depth discussion and introspective reflection by sharing different perspectives on approaching the challenges of hunger globally, nationally, but most importantly, in our local communities and homes.
