Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture Hosts First Field Day on DCB Campus

On September 24th, 2021 the Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture held its first interactive field day on the Dakota College Campus. This field day was a very much anticipated day as the COVID pandemic had initially postponed the original event in 2020. Funds were used from some of the grants that have been awarded to Dakota College at Bottineau.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage

Dakota College at Bottineau is actively engaging in Hispanic Heritage Month with a book display in the Campus Library. This month provides an opportunity to increase awareness in the variety of ways that culture may be celebrated. The display features artifacts from Mexico City, Oaxaca and Sonora Mexico. It also contains art prints and pottery that demonstrate the artistic traditions from Central America and the Caribbean.

DCB Participates in Educator’s Workshop

The North Dakota Space Grant Consortium (NDSGC) hosted a NASA in the Classroom Educator Workshop that focused on bringing real-world NASA data and resources to ND classrooms. The goal of the workshop was to guide educators in engaging students in areas of atmospheric science and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), by using effective instructional strategies and inclusive educational resources, using inspiring NASA content.

Dakota College at Bottineau Staff Senate organization recently awarded the second annual online scholarship. Online student, Benjamin Paulson is this year’s recipient. Benjamin is from Naperville, Illinois. He is a fulltime online student pursuing a degree in Urban Forestry Management.

DCB is an Option for BND Free College Application Month

Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to be part of Bank of North Dakota’s College Application Month (CAM). CAM is part of a national initiative known as the American College Application Campaign. The American Council on Education started this program in 2005 with a single high school in North Carolina. Today, it reaches more than 250,000 schools in all 50 states.
Dakota College Announces Vaccination Incentive

Dakota College Announces Vaccination Incentive

Dakota College has announced a $100 incentive to students to get coronavirus vaccinations. The incentive will pay students $100 for completing the vaccine series. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least one on-campus class in Bottineau, Minot, or Valley City during the fall 2021 semester. The first vaccination shot must be received by September 24, and must have completed the series by October 15 to qualify.

Dakota College at Bottineau closes the fall 2021 enrollment with a record enrollment. The North Dakota University System calculates official fall enrollment for all 11 colleges and universities on the 20th instructional day of the semester. That day was yesterday, September 20, 2021.

DCB Announces Campus Read 2021-22

DCB Announces Campus Read 2021-22

Dakota College at Bottineau announces its annual Campus Read. This year the title chosen is written by James Barilla, My Backyard Jungle - The adventures of an Urban Wildlife Lover Who Turned His Yard into Habitat and Learned to live with it. As has been the practice with previous book reads, students enrolled in first-year composition courses discuss the book and work writing assignments linked to the reading assignments.
