LeaderJacks Sponsor Toy Drive
Date Published: 11/25/24
LeaderJacks is a student leadership organization with Dakota College at Bottineau. The group is established for students, from every degree or certificate program offered. The focus of the organization is to develop leadership skills and life experience through community involvement through service to others.
This fall, 19 students are participating in LeaderJacks. They are holding a holiday toy drive to support young children and teens affected by domestic violence by giving them a bit of holiday cheer in the form of new donated gifts. This is the fourth year of sponsoring the holiday toy drive, with all donated items being brought to the Family Crisis Center (FCC) in Bottineau for distribution.
Donations for the toy drive may be brought to the Dakota College Library anytime between December 2nd and the 13th. They will also be collected at the home basketball games against Turtle Mountain on December 10 at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Monetary donations are also accepted, and LeaderJacks will shop for gifts on the donor’s behalf.
LeaderJacks give back to the community by volunteering at the Bottineau Food Pantry, PTO Vendor Show, and Santa’s Workshop, as well as holding bake sales to support community action projects such as this toy drive.
