Hurricane Relief Support

Date Published: 11/4/24

Bottineau, ND, November 1, 2024—Dakota College at Bottineau Student Nurse Organization (SNO) is helping others with a needs drive for hurricane disaster relief. SNO appreciates the community and is asking for donations to gather items to support the Florida families affected by the hurricane.

SNO is made up of 16 nursing students: seven practical nursing students and nine associate degree nursing students on the Bottineau campus. The idea came from the students as they brainstormed opportunities impacting our community and areas. The goal is to lessen the burden on families in need.

Items collected are clean, gently used warm clothing, undergarments, socks, small children’s toys, books, towels, and personal hygiene products. SNO is taking donations through Monday, November 11, 2024. Drop-off locations are set up on the DCB campus in the Old Main Nursing Department and Thatcher Hall Student Services office. The donations will be delivered to the Red Cross. Any donations that the Red Cross does not accept, SNO will donate to local organizations such as shelters.

"The SNO organization is very excited to give back to our community and other communities in their time of need! We plan to hold an event in the community or college once a month this school year!" Megan Medrud, SNO President.
