Health Profession Scholarship Recipients Announced

November 19, 2024 – Bottineau, ND – The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation has awarded thirty $2,500 scholarships to health profession students attending North Dakota colleges, universities, or technical colleges. This is the seventh year the BCBSND Caring Foundation has provided this scholarship opportunity.
The health profession scholarship program helps fulfill the Caring Foundation’s goal of improving the health and well-being of North Dakotans by investing in the education of tomorrow’s healthcare professionals. The foundation helps address the shortage of critical health professionals by providing financial assistance to aspiring students across the state.
Dakota College at Bottineau is happy to announce Skye Witmer, originally from Velva, ND is among the recipients. Skye is enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program at Dakota College’s Minot location. Dakota College has locations in Bottineau, Valley City, and Minot.
Paige Baade, Assistant Dean for Nursing & Health Professions shares her excitement, “We are excited to announce that Skye was one of our dedicated nursing students who was awarded the BCBSND scholarship. A student from each Dakota Nursing Program’s colleges was a recipient of this scholarship. We are incredibly proud of Skye’s achievements and are confident that this scholarship will further enable her to excel in her nursing education and future career. This accomplishment serves as an inspiration to peers and a reminder of the remarkable potential within each of our students.”
