DCB Opens New Site & Welcomes New Instructor
Dakota College at Bottineau is pleased to announce that Jessalyn Bachler has accepted the Farm Management Education instructor for the northwest region of ND serving the Williston and Stanley areas. Dakota College has added the Northwest region to their current areas in Minot, Bottineau, and Rugby, ND.
The Farm Management Education program is a Career and Technical Education program that provides a practical study of the farming business for families currently engaged in managing their farms or ranches. The program is unique as it actively engages farmers or beginning farmers. Farm Management Education is hands-on, using students’ own farm financial information, which remains confidential. Active students state the program has been invaluable to the success of their farming operation.
Jessalyn graduated from Dickinson State University with her B.S. in Ranch Management, and from North Dakota State University with her M.S. in Animal and Range Science. Previously, Jessalyn was a Range Management Field Specialist with South Dakota State University Extension. She moved back to northwestern ND to be closer to friends and family. In her spare time, Jessalyn enjoys outdoor activities including ranching, riding horse, gardening, canning, golfing, kayaking, and fishing.
The Farm Management Education program provides training in computerized record-keeping systems which help the farm family organize and maintain accurate financial records. Enrollees learn to analyze their records and determine the financial strengths and weaknesses of their farm business as well as each of their farm enterprises.
Dakota College is excited to open a new site and to have Jessalyn as part of the team. Farmers and ranchers interested in additional information may visit the website for contact information www.dakotacollege.edu/farmmanagement.
