DCB Nursing Program Attains Substantial Compliance October 26, 2024 – Bottineau, ND - Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to announce formal notice from the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) that the Certificate Practical Nurse and the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Education programs attained substantial compliance with ND Administrative Code 54-03.2. Standards for Nursing Education Programs.
In the DCB-specific report, no compliance issues were reported in any area receiving full approval through October 2029. The DCB nursing program has shown immense growth and improvement in the last few years. Offered through the Dakota Nursing Program consortium, locations that are operated by DCB are in Valley City, Bottineau, and Minot. Old Main houses a new state-of-the-art program on the Bottineau campus. The Valley City site is located in Rhodes Hall at Valley City State University, and the Minot location is in Trinity’s Health Center West on Broadway.
The Nursing Education program is evaluated to ensure nursing students receive an exceptional and quality education. The compliance review determines whether DCB meets the standards required for accreditation. “Accreditation from the NDBON is a requirement for ND nursing programs. This approval with no compliance concerns is a testament of our dedication for success, the quality education our nursing faculty provide, and the preparation of our students for licensure,” said Paige Baade, MSN, RN, Assistant Dean for Nursing & Health Professions at DCB.
After students graduate from the Certificate Practical Nurse or the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing education program, the final step in becoming a nurse is sitting for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing’s (NCSBN) NCLEX licensing examination. The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) tests a student’s knowledge and aptitude in safe and effective care environments, health promotion and maintenance, psychosocial integrity, and physiological integrity to practice nursing. DCB graduates scored a perfect 100% pass rate for the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN licensure examination on the 2023-2024 NCSBN report.
Applications to the Nursing Program are accepted annually from December 1 to March 5.
