Dakota College to Observe Arbor Day
Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) will gather to observe Arbor Day on Friday, October 13 in recognition of its appreciation and commitment to trees on the DCB campus. This commitment and passion dates to DCB’s history from when it first opened as the School of Forestry in 1906 and it continues to this day. This same care, and passion is shared with faculty, staff, students, and the community as DCB seeks to meet its vision of “adapting to the changing educational landscape to empower students and impact communities.”
Dakota College at Bottineau is currently 1 of 410 colleges throughout the US that are recognized as a Tree Campus of Higher Education and is 1 of 4 in the state of North Dakota. While many of the core standards were upheld in the past, DCB has officially held its Tree Campus of Higher Education status since 2019. Maintaining this status continues to show the commitment that Dakota College at Bottineau has towards the trees on this campus, while providing a more livable, healthy, and beautiful environment that welcomes and benefits the students of this campus.
In the continuation of DCB’s passion, there have been seven trees planted this fall on campus to beautify and enhance the green infrastructure. The community is invited to celebrate Arbor Day observation in the DCB dining center at 11:30 am, Friday, October 13, 2023.
