Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to host the Northeast Regional Science Olympiad on campus April 4, 2024. Area schools create teams to compete for the chance to qualify for the North Dakota State Science Olympiad competition.
Depending upon the school districts, teams comprise junior high and senior high students. 2024 has nine Junior High and eleven high school teams registered. Area schools participating includes Bottineau Public School, Cavalier High School, Drake-Anamoose High School, Langdon, MLS-Mohall, Rugby High School, Minnewaukan, Rolla, Ray High School, Turtle Mountain Community High School, Valley-Edinburg, TGU-Granville, and TGU-Towner. During the competition, students will compete in a variety of events, which deal with the science curriculum students learn in their classrooms.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter of Beta Rho Etta at Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) recently had three students selected by the State to the 2024 All North Dakota Academic Team.
Lexie Nelson, originally from Carman, Manitoba has been selected as a Bronze Scholar on the Coca-Cola Academic Team. This program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Since 2007, Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) has offered an annual book read to students in First-Year Composition. Silent Spring by Rachel Carson is the book chosen for this year’s annual campus book read.
Fifteen North Dakota University System (NDUS) faculty members were recently awarded $1,000 scholarships through the Dakota Digital Academy to attend and participate in conferences or professional development experiences involving artificial intelligence (AI). The scholarships were established to encourage professional learning and AI implementation in college classrooms.
