To keep with the storied tradition that dates back to 1961, Dakota College at Bottineau faculty and staff are excited to announce their nominations for Smokey’s Court 2023. Nominations for Smokey’s court were held last week by faculty and staff. Students eligible for the honor must have completed 24 credits and be full-time degree-seeking on-campus students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be considered.
The Dakota College at Bottineau’s photography program is pleased to announce the 2023 Annual High School Photo Contest. There will be 25 winning entries with special prizes offered to the top three. All 25 winning entries will receive a 16x20 inch archival giclee print of their winning photo, and an exhibition in an art show, including an artist’s reception and studio and campus tour at Dakota College. The top three entry prizes include a first-place prize of a Canon mirrorless camera and lens, and a $500 scholarship.
Just before the holidays, the City of Minot reaffirmed its support of the proposed Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) Center for Technical Education (CTE) at 120 Burdick Expressway E. In a unanimous vote, an additional $1.84 million in Hub City funding was pledged to defray escalating renovation costs. This funding increases the total commitment of the City to $5.24 million from a combination of federal and state funds.
Dakota College at Bottineau experienced a change in administrative staff at the end of 2022. With the resignation of the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs last fall, a search to fill the numerous responsibilities of this role was conducted. Dakota College is excited to announce two internal hires: Kayla O’Toole and Heidi Kippenhan.

This academic success recognizes outstanding students who are investing time, energy, and resources to become contributing members of society. Dean’s List students maintain a GPA of 3.5 and higher and the Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0-3.49.
