About Laura

Hi there! My name is Laura and I am the director of retention and assistant director to advising. I first began this journey at DCB in January of 2015 as a recruiter in admissions. In June of 2015 I took on the Title IX Coordinator position for Dakota College at Bottineau. With this title it is my job to educate students, staff, and faculty about the importance of Title IX and the resources that DCB has available to them. In January of 2016, I accepted a job as the TRIO SSS Career Coordinator. As a new recipient of the grant, I was able to help pave the way for the SSS grant at DCB. I most enjoyed advising students on their education path to career success. In the fall of 2018, I moved up as an Assistant Director where I continued to advise students, but also become a pillar of the grant. In August of 2019 I accepted the Director of TRIO SSS position. I so enjoyed my work with TRIO SSS and was proud of the opportunities it provided to the students of DCB. In Fall of 2020 this grant at DCB ended, but this then provided me with opportunity in a new role and provide academic support to students through advising and retention efforts as the director of retention and assistant director of advising in January of 2021. At the time a new position to DCB, I found ways to bring my TRIO experience to all students and get to be an advisor so many great students. The small campus makes it easy to love my job and I enjoy the people that surround me at work. Some of the other titles I have is Mom and wife. My husband and I live just East of Bottineau and are the proud parents of two awesome little boys who love to be cowboys.
