Summer Work

Dakota College at Bottineau Now Hiring Summer Help:  40 hours per week.  In need of workers for grounds keeping, cleaning and boiler. Also, Horticulture Assistants needed to help maintain the vegetable crops and floral plants grown by the horticulture department.

Full Time Custodian - Physical Plant

40 Hours Per Week

Job Description: Performing custodial work required for the routine cleaning and upkeep of campus buildings. Included moving furniture and equipment, collecting waste paper and performing other related custodial duties such as scrubbing, mopping and sweeping floors; cleaning, renovating and renewing floor surface finishes; cleaning windows, walls, woodwork and washrooms; cleaning and dusting furnishings; shoveling snow.  Possibility of light facility repair and maintenance projects for individuals with basic carpentry and/or building upkeep skills.  Anticipated work schedule is 12 noon to 9 PM Monday through Friday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the cleaning and upkeep of buildings, ability to perform cleaning work; knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school; ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work independently after instructions; ability to perform physical labor necessary to perform the duties of the position; and enthusiasm and willingness to perform all facets of custodial services in a dependable manner as described above. 

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full family health insurance, retirement, life insurance, vacation and sick leave benefits paid by employer.

 Events & Administrative Coordinator - DCB Foundation

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking applicants for the position of Events and Administrative Coordinator.

This position coordinates and manages the events put on by the Foundation, Alumni and Logrollers organizations. Maintains and manages database of donors, alumni and fundraising activities. Handles accounting tasks, bank transactions, financial reports, processing mail, donations and correspondence on a daily basis.  Answers phones and greets visitors to the Foundation office. Helps with volunteer recruitment, relationship building and promotion of Foundation. Other tasks will be assigned by the Foundation director. Duties will require a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends when events are held.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associates degree preferred in business administration, accounting or related area, or equivalent work experience.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with volunteers, donors and board members.

SALARY:  $30,000 to $35,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.

Full-time or Part-time Master Degree Nursing Faculty and Bachelor Degree Nursing Faculty


LOCATION:  Dakota College at Bottineau distance sites in Valley City and Minot, ND.


TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a 9-month benefited position with an opportunity for additional work during the summer.

JOB SUMMARY:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The person selected for this position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of student learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas with nursing students enrolled in the Dakota Nursing Program.

Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor Degree or Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years

Agriculture/Horticulture Instructor

Full-time, benefited 9 month position

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in agriculture, horticulture, and related fields (i.e., botany, turf grass management, and/or plant science) to undergraduate students in associate degree programs.  Advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a field of agriculture, horticulture, or related field.  Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree in a field of agriculture, horticulture, or related field and experience teaching college-level introductory horticulture agriculture, and/or related courses.  Experience with greenhouse management/operations and grant management.   

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Doctorate degree in a field of biology, botany or related field and experience teaching college-level introductory biology, botany, agriculture, and/or related courses.

College Farm Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking applicants for the position of College Farm Manager.

This position ensures that the college’s CTE programs and ECH programs, as well as the college in general, are supplied with the necessary plants and plant materials needed for instruction and other program-related activities.  The position also ensures that all facilities and production areas related to the CTE instructional programs, ECH programs and the college green plant collection are appropriately maintained.  Duties will require a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree required in horticulture, agriculture or related area, or equivalent work experience.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to travel.

Part Time Security Officer

(UP TO 19 HOURS PER WEEK)

JOB DESCRIPTION: This individual will be responsible for maintaining safety and security on the DCB campus.  Job duties will include performing campus patrols and building and door checks, responding to calls for security assistance, investigating campus incidents, and enforcing parking regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS Required: Directly related experience, computer software skills, good interpersonal skills and common courtesy in working with all constituents, disciplined and able to maintain confidentiality, ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS Preferred:  Associate degree in criminal justice or other appropriate area; one year of safety and security experience; CPR, AED, First Aid certification or intention to become certified.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.

DATE AVAILABLE: August 1, 2018
