Foundation Director

JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinate and manage all activities associated with the DCB Foundation, Alumni and Logroller organizations while working with them to develop budgets and achieve goals. Identify new prospects for gifting opportunities. Cultivate and establish relationships with current and new donors. Identify and meet with people to develop new donor relationships.  Identify and build relationships with volunteers to assist with various fundraising programs and activities. Secure required resources for projects. Supervise, train and evaluate office staff. Establish office procedures and timelines. Coordinate scholarship awards and criteria in conjunction with the Student Services Office. Work with the Foundation's Investment Committee to realize the best possible return from the organization's assets. Attend monthly meetings for the Foundation, Logrollers and Alumni groups. Work with bankers, lawyers, accountants, etc. to provide information about planned giving opportunities available through the college. The position will require a self-starter with strong communication, social, planning and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree or appropriate experience, strong leadership and team building skills, ability to multi task, skilled at interpersonal relationships and networking.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Business administration degree, experience in comparable position with college or nonprofit organization, experience with accounting.

COMPENSATION:  12 month, full-time, benefited position.  Salary based on experience and education.  Retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.

Maintenance Worker - Physical Plant

12 Month, Full-Time Benefited Position

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Assist in operation and maintenance of college’s central heating plant and auxiliary heating systems, assist in repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, assist in maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of (or the ability to learn) operation and maintenance of pressure steam boilers and heating systems; knowledge of basic repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment; ability to perform the physical labor necessary for position duties; high school diploma or equivalent; and enthusiasm and willingness to perform all facets of the position as described above.

SALARY:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full family health insurance, retirement, life insurance, vacation and sick leave benefits paid by employer.

Farm/Ranch Business Management Instructor

Minot, ND

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include assisting students, who are actively engaged in farming/ranching, in developing sound farm financial and production records, creating cash flow projections and completing a farm/ranch business analysis.  Responsibilities also include teaching and enrolling students.  Instruction of students is primarily done on a one-to-one basis.  Student advisement, commitment to a collegial working environment, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.  The office for this position is located in Minot, ND

QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s degree in the field of agriculture or related field or a Bachelor’s degree and other appropriate work experience.  Must be willing to be trained in using FINPACK software. QUALIFICATIONS Preferred: 

  • Experience teaching farm management
  • Experience in agriculture finance such as agricultural loan officer
  • Three or more years of agriculture/agribusiness experience
  • Proficiency with FINPACK, Excel and one or more farm accounting software programs
  • Appropriate master’s degree
  • Documented successful teaching experience

Compensation:  10 to 11 month (negotiable), full-time, benefited position.  Salary based on experience and education.  Retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.

STARTING DATE: Negotiable, but ideally by October 15, 2018.

Admissions Counselor

Part-time, non-benefited position

JOB DESCRIPTION: The person selected for this position will represent the college at selected college fairs, high schools visits, and other events. Other duties inherent to this position include: 1) serving as the contact person for prospective students, 2) assisting students with their enrollment status and application file, 3) providing assistance with admitting prospective students, 4) providing academic advising and registration for new and enrolled students, 5) administering placement exams, 6) maintaining prospect databases in Hobsons CRM, 7) assisting with campus recruiting events, new student registrations, new student orientations and campus tours.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Possess a valid driver's license and able to obtain documents required to travel to Canada. Proficiency with Microsoft environments and Desktop Publishing programs. Must be able to load and transport displays and other equipment up to 40 pounds.

Master Degree Nursing Faculty (Valley City, ND)

Full-time or Part-time, 9 month benefited position with an opportunity for additional work during the summer.

JOB SUMMARY:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The person selected for this position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of student learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas with nursing students enrolled in the Dakota Nursing Program

Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years, Candidates also need to possess a current North Dakota RN license and maintain continuing education as required by the ND State Board of Nursing.

SALARY/BENEFITS:  Competitive salary based on education and experience.  Comprehensive fringe benefit package including TIAA-CREF retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance for full-time nursing faculty.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.
