Information Technology Instructor/Program Coordinator

Full-time, 9 month, benefited appointment

Position Located in Minot, ND

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in information technology fields (i.e., web-design, networking, programming, etc.) to undergraduate students in A.S. and A.A.S. degree programs.  Advising students, curriculum development, assessment of student learning, institutional committee work, program development and promotion, and distance delivery of coursework are inherent to this position.  A significant portion of this position will involve building professional relationships with business and industry partners and exploring opportunities for non-credit training and new programs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a field of information technology.  Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree in a information technology and experience teaching college-level, introductory information technology related courses.   

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

SALARY: Open, depending on education and experience.

College Farm Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking applicants for the position of College Farm Manager.

This position ensures that the college’s CTE programs and ECH programs, as well as the college in general, are supplied with the necessary plants and plant materials needed for instruction and other program-related activities.  The position also ensures that all facilities and production areas related to the CTE instructional programs, ECH programs and the college green plant collection are appropriately maintained.  Duties will require a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate’s degree (or equivalent) required in horticulture, agriculture or related area.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to travel.

ECH Small Farm Technical Assistant & Horticulture Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking applicants for the position of ECH (Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture) Small Farm Technical Assistant and Horticulture Instructor.  Responsibilities for this position include providing technical assistance to vegetable producers/farmers across the state; providing academic instruction for Horticulture and related programs; program promotion and student advising; preparing reports on producer/farmer data for granting agencies and the college; participating in ECH, DCB and Dickinson State University grant-related activities; tracking grant activities and funding, and preparing and updating a Northern Plains Specialty Crop data tool kit.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree required in horticulture, agriculture or related area.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to travel.

Head Softball Coach

Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for head coach of the Women’s Fast Pitch Softball team. Responsibilities for this position include developing/maintaining softball team, demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions.  This position can also entail recruiting duties.  The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes.  They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior, demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes. Coach will support policy and educational goals of the athletic department and the college.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a head coach. Experience in the recruitment of student athletes at the collegiate level.  Fund-raising and budgeting knowledge.

Registrar

Full-time, 12 month Benefited Position

Job Description: The Registrar has responsibilities for operational matters related to academic records maintenance and registration activities. Specifically, this position works with the college’s student information system (PeopleSoft/Oracle Campus Solutions) to input and manage student records. The Registrar will report to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs and will direct/assist in coordinating registrar/registration functions, imaging system implementation and graduation as part of their duties. There are also significant customer service components in this position. There are several duties that are the sole responsibility of this employee. Some of these duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Reviewing student educational records to insure compliance with North Dakota University System (NDUS) and institutional policies and informing students when records do not comply.
  2. Maintaining and insuring accuracy and security of student records as well as the regulations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  3. Interpreting institutional and NDUS academic and student affairs policies.
  4. Maintaining and processing enrollments/withdrawals using PeopleSoft software.
  5. Coordinating the submission of enrollment and degree data to the National Student Clearinghouse.
  6. Producing, editing and proofreading camera-ready copy, catalogs, or handbooks as needed.
  7. Evaluating and entering transfer credits into campus connection
  8. Coordinating the collaborative student enrollment process.
  9. Processing and sending transcripts per student requests.
  10. Managing and maintaining the collaborative student files. Processing all collaborative students including registration, drop/adds, withdrawals etc.
  11. Serving as the campus military liaison providing information for students and prospective students interested in educational benefits based on military service or status.
  12. Records Retention Management.

This position will require a self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.

Required Qualifications: 1) Bachelor’s degree; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems and application software including Microsoft Office Professional; 3) strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a detail oriented atmosphere; 4) excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and 5) ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Master’s degree; and 2) experience in post-secondary student services, student records, and/or admissions.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach

The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required..

Associate Degree Nurse Faculty

JOB SUMMARY:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The person selected for this position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of student learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas with nursing students enrolled in the Dakota Nursing Program

Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years
